After working with various fibre-optic installation companies, Oceanworks International – a dynamic, privately held subsea technology company and manufacturer of underwater instruments – contacted ATS for a highly specialized cable splicing project with unique challenges.
The challenge involved cable splicing two different types of fibre-optic cables, in a single tray. According to the firm website, “Oceanworks designs and builds some of the world’s most advanced subsea technology and systems” thus the accuracy of splicing was critical and ATS needed to find a success solution in a tight timeframe. Following quality assurance testing and in-depth assessments from industry associates, the ATS fibre-optic splicing project was successfully shipped for immediate implementation.
