AxisTech Emergency Response Team Rose to the Challenge and Flew to the Hydroelectric Plant near Sechelt, BC for Critical Fibre-Optic Repairs Damaged by Fire.

During the September 2015 Labour Day long weekend, AxisTech Services fibre specialist team was contacted by the Hydroelectric plant owner to urgently repair a section of fibre-optic cable at the company’s Plant near Sechelt, British Columbia. A sudden fire had damaged a section of fibre-optic cable and required immediate termination and restoration. The AxisTech emergency response team, lead by David Mayhew, quickly mobilized highly technical equipment, specialized repair tools and promptly chartered a floatplane to the site located on BC’s Sunshine Coast.

Upon assessing the damage, the AxisTech team worked quickly to terminate, test and monitor the new fibre-optic system. “We take great pride in our team’s quick-response to uncontrollable circumstances and welcome the many logistical challenges faced by our clients within BC and Western Canada” says President of The Axis of Companies, Joana Barbulescu, RCDD.

“It’s always a bit daunting bringing new contractors to such a remote location because if they cannot perform it’s not exactly easy to replace them. That being said David and Colin were exactly what I am looking for in contractors. They were professional, prepared, knowledgeable and had a get it done attitude…”
